And just like that, we’ve reached the final week of the 2025 fantasy football season. As always, there has been plenty of madness mixed in with the method. Those with Lamar Jackson and Justin Jefferson have watched on as Jacoby Brissett and Michael Wilson carry their league mates to a fantasy championship game.
However you got there, though, if you’ve made it to the final two, congratulations, and best of luck in the coming week. The 18-game season has made Week 17 a nightmare for people silly enough to pursue a career in fantasy football, with the Christmas schedule an untimely curveball.
Thankfully, Christmas Day lands on a Thursday this year, and so there are fewer changes than in previous years. Three games on Thursday, followed by two on Saturday, are the only outliers, and that shouldn’t change things too much.
So, for the final time this year, whether you are playing for a championship, to avoid a forfeit, or simply for pride and love of the game, here are this week’s priority waiver adds.
*All players listed below are rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo leagues, unless otherwise stated.
Kirk Cousins, QB, Atlanta Falcons

There aren’t many great options at quarterback this week, but if you’re in need due to an injury, Kirk Cousins is a short-term sleeper for Week 17. Since becoming Atlanta’s starter in Week 12, Cousins has averaged a safe 15.8 fantasy points per game, despite being without Drake London for much of that spell.
Since a down game against Seattle’s elite defense in Week 14, Cousins has thrown five touchdowns and one pick, averaging 22.75 FPPG, finishing as a QB1 both weeks. On Monday night, Cousins faces the Los Angeles Rams, who have allowed an average of 23.18 FPPG to opposing quarterbacks over their last four games, which would be good for QB2 overall in that stretch.
Michael Carter, RB, Arizona Cardinals
Michael Carter is the Arizona Cardinals’ lead back after, one by one, those ahead of him have been strucj down by injury. Against the Falcons in Week 16, Carter handled 53% of snaps, 11 carries, and was targeted twice.
Emari Demercado will likely produce more in the receiving game than Carter, but having averaged 5.91 yards per carry against Atlanta, Carter will continue to dominate on the ground. That puts him in a great position to produce in Week 17, against a Cincinnati Bengals defense that has allowed 5.3 yards per carry this season (third most).
There is a risk that the Cardinals will have to throw for their lives to keep up with a high-powered Bengals offense, but Cincinnati gave up 129 rushing yards despite scoring 45 points against Miami on Sunday. In each of their two previous games, the Bengals allowed over 180 rushing yards, making Carter a worthwhile flex add for those sweating on the health of Josh Jacobs or TreVeyon Henderson this week.
Parker Washington, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars

Parker Washington was a must-have wide receiver with Brian Thomas Jr. sidelined earlier in the year, but he popped up again with a massive performance in Week 16. Washington led all Jaguars receivers with six catches for 145 yards and a score against an elite Denver Broncos defense.
This week, the Jaguars take on the Colts, who have excelled against the run, but who entered Monday night having allowed the third-most passing yards per game in the NFL (247.6). With Trevor Lawrence in the form of his career, and Washington looking like one of his favorite two targets, the receiver should be able to put up solid flex numbers this week, and potentially a lot more.
Dalton Schultz, TE, Houston Texans
Dalton Schultz is rostered in a little over 50% of Yahoo leagues (53%), but with no standout options below 50%, he stands out as a must-add if you’re in need and he’s available this week. Since the Texans’ Week 6 bye, Schultz has quietly put up seven top-11 fantasy weeks in 10 games,
That’s remarkable consistency, especially with C.J. Stroud having missed some of those games through injury. Schultz is a steady, if unremarkable, fantasy tight end, but has touchdowns in back-to-back games and has averaged six targets per game over his last five.
That concludes this week’s priority waiver adds, with pickings far slimmer this week than in weeks gone by. I’ll be back with a starts and sits article on Thursday, while my weekly streamers article for PFSN will also be available on Wednesday morning.
